Principium team initiates the Omah Rojolele project in Delanggu to enhance agrarian cultural tourism. By partnering with local stakeholders, they aim to preserve the historical heritage of Rojolele rice and provide continuous cultural education. The initiative received broad support from the community and local organizations.
goodnewsfromstudent.com – Known for its renowned rice commodity, the village of Delanggu harbors an untapped potential for agrarian cultural tourism. One of its most famous rice brands, Rojolele, not only produces high-quality rice but also holds a rich historical narrative that can be transformed into a unique tourism experience.
The local identity of Rojolele rice is deeply intertwined with history, dating back to the Islamic Mataram Kingdom in Kartasura during the reign of Pakubuwono II in 1745. The name “Rojolele” originates from the words “Rojo” (king) and “Thole-thole” (young boys planting rice together), reflecting a deep cultural heritage.
To preserve and promote this agrarian culture, the Rojolele Community Studio was established. This group of locals aims to introduce the Rojolele cultural heritage to a broader audience through annual events like the Mbok Sri Festival, which showcases various Rojolele cultural performances. However, the once-a-year festival is insufficient for fully promoting the agrarian heritage of Rojolele.
In response, the 2024 PPK Ormawa KSP Principium team, led by Rio Dwi Prasetiya, has partnered with the Rojolele Community Studio and other Pentahelix partners to create Omah Rojolele. This initiative aims to serve as a permanent center for the development and dissemination of Rojolele’s agrarian culture.
On Tuesday evening, June 25, 2024, at the Rojolele Community Studio, a socialization event for the 2024 PPK Ormawa Capacity Building Program was held. The event introduced the Omah Rojolele project to key stakeholders, including the Rojolele Community Studio leaders, Delanggu village officials, and other partners.
Karjono, a representative from the Rojolele Farmers Group, expressed his support, particularly for the traditional farming equipment aspect of the project. “We fully support this initiative and are ready to assist with the provision of traditional farming tools,” he stated.

Similarly, Muksin, representing the Delanggu Village Youth Organization, pledged their support in executing and assisting the project. “We are ready to support the implementation and assist the Principium team and Ormawa,” he explained.
Eksan, a representative of the Rojolele Community Studio, shared his optimism about the project. “The establishment of Omah Rojolele will further enhance the presence of the Rojolele Community Studio as a cultural preservation entity,” he said.
Maryono, representing the Delanggu village officials, also highlighted the project’s potential to promote Delanggu as a cultural heritage village. “The PPK Ormawa initiative can help raise awareness of Delanggu’s cultural heritage, cementing its status as a village rich in history,” he commented.
With the support of various stakeholders, the Omah Rojolele project is expected to progress smoothly, achieving its goal of making the agrarian cultural history of Rojolele more widely known and appreciated.
